Charmex is launching a user manual, available to download free of charge, in which, alongside a detailed description of all the features of Traulux interactive monitors, users will find usage tips and links to explanatory videos.
The TLM80 and TLM80-1 series interactive monitors have been designed to meet the most demanding needs. Both in the hardware design and in the programming of the built-in Android layer, the aim has been maximum simplicity of use, adapting to users’ preferences and acting on their suggestions. Even in the layout of the shortcuts to the various functions, priority has been given to making the most requested ones quickly accessible. All of this makes the user experience simple and intuitive from the very first moment.
Some of the practical examples included in the manual, designed to be brought into the classroom and accompanied by video tutorials, are the infinite whiteboard, working with documents and wireless collaboration.
The infinite whiteboard
The concept of the digital whiteboard, where you can write on a blank sheet, is useful for organising class notes or holding brainstorming sessions. Charmex also suggests the crop, pen-colour cloning and object duplication tools to encourage learning through play without the need for complicated software.
With the manual, users will learn how to make the most of these tools. For example, for early years education, activities such as counting apples could be prepared, where the teacher imports a picture of a basket of apples, adds a picture of an apple and duplicates it with the cloning tool. A pupil can then come up to the front and count the apples one by one.
Tutorials like the following are linked in the manual to help teachers and pupils use this tool:
Working with documents
Working with documents in PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint format on these monitors is very easy for teachers thanks to the interactive features they offer. Users can even create annotations that are embedded in the documents when they are saved. In this chapter Charmex shows how to use gestures and write at the same time.
Wireless sharing
Is it possible to collaborate from a mobile device? How many users can connect at the same time? Is it compatible with every operating system? Can the monitor be controlled from a PC?
These monitors have extensive connectivity, including a USB-C input and HDMI output. In addition, to give users the chance to collaborate without cables, the next chapter explains how to share from a device to the Traulux interactive monitor using the pre-installed EsharePRO app. It allows up to 9 devices to be mirrored simultaneously across all operating systems (Android, iOS, Chrome, Windows, Mac OS, Linux).
Google Workspace:
If your school uses Google Workspace, this chapter will be of particular interest.
It explains how to make the most of this ecosystem from two perspectives:
- Basic use of the main Google apps such as Gmail, Classroom, Drive, YouTube, Earth, Jamboard or Meet:
- Full, unrestricted use of the whole Workspace ecosystem using an external Chromebox device with GMS certification and Google Play:
Remote control
Using the remote control is another of the lesser-known functions that can be very useful in the classroom: from turning the pages of a PowerPoint to moving the cursor in a document or taking screenshots that are stored in the internal memory:
As well as being a guide for everyone who already uses the monitor, this manual adds value as a reference document, and is equally useful for anyone who simply wants to find out more about these handy classroom devices. To download the manual, just go here and fill in the form below.
General features of Traulux interactive monitors
Available in 65”, 75” and 86”, they are built in metal, with 4 mm tempered, 7 Mohs protective glass. They have a matt, ultra-smooth, anti-fingerprint surface.
All of them have a built-in quad-core processor running Android 8.0 as standard, with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. They can also handle 4K content, both local and streamed. Optionally, a Windows PC-OPS module and/or a ChromeBox module can be added, which can run simultaneously to offer a multi-OS ‘all-in-one’ solution.
For personal use, it can also be connected through the multiple inputs or using the ‘mirroring’ system. The monitor is compatible with every operating system.
