The historic Farmacia Bárez Díaz, located in the old town of Boadilla del Monte (Madrid), has carried out a project to modernise its shop window with a comprehensive digital signage solution that combines transparent LED technology, smart content management and automatic brightness control.
The installation was carried out by the integrator IT Plus, with technology distributed by Charmex, and consists of:
- Traulux T-GLASS-FIX-100 transparent LED display, made up of 10 cabinets of 100×50 cm, giving a total screen of 200x250 cm, with 3.9–7.8 mm pitch and 5,000 nits brightness, ideal for retail shop windows thanks to its ultra-thin design and high visibility.
- Novastar MCTRL600 LED processor, which receives the content from the Samsung player and sends it to the display, guaranteeing stable, precise management.
- Samsung SBB-SS08NV2XEN player, based on the SSSP 6.0 platform, which allows UHD content playback.
- Samsung MagicINFO Unified Player 2 software licence (BW-MIP70PA), which allows remote scheduling, publishing and monitoring of content, integrating the solution into a centralised management platform.
This solution allows the pharmacy to show health campaigns, promotions of strategic products and dermocosmetics content, aligned with its social media posts, increasing visibility and reinforcing the customer experience.
“We wanted an easy way to communicate the changes we are introducing, as well as our promotions and services, to a wide audience. The transparent LED display allows us to reach more local residents and families, reinforcing the customer experience and our role as a leading pharmacy,” explains Celia Bárez Díaz, the pharmacy’s owner.
AV innovation applied to pharmacy retail
The Traulux T‑Glass FIX has become a new visual communication channel, preserving the look of the historic shop window while offering a striking digital experience. Farmacia Bárez Díaz has also introduced other technology solutions as part of its modernisation process:
- Dispensing robot, which optimises medicine management.
- Cashlogy system, for automated cash management.
- Digitisation of processes and online presence, strengthening customer interaction and point-of-sale efficiency.

The location of the shop window, opposite the town’s school and in a busy pedestrian area, maximises the visibility and impact of the content at the busiest times.
This project shows how transparent LED technology applied to pharmacy retail can:
The case of Farmacia Bárez Díaz serves as a reference for other pharmacies and shops looking for high-impact digital signage solutions, combining visual experience, technological innovation and marketing strategy.
Key technical features
- High brightness and contrast, to guarantee visibility even in very bright outdoor conditions.
- Ultra-thin design and controlled transparency, respecting the historic look of the shop window.
- Centralised AV content management, with campaign scheduling, timetables and custom typography.
- Multichannel integration, synchronising content with social media to maximise reach and engagement.
Since its installation in May 2025, the LED display has produced visible, measurable results:
- Immediate visual impact: customers highlight the clarity and appeal of the digital shop window.
- Greater reach and double visibility: synchronisation with social media reinforces multichannel communication.
- Supplier interest: brands are collaborating to create specific content, increasing the value of the shop window as a marketing channel.
- Stronger positioning: the pharmacy consolidates its position as an innovative benchmark in Boadilla del Monte, combining tradition and technology.
Challenges overcome
Installing in a historic shop window involved technical challenges:
- Aesthetic and structural integration of the display without affecting the original façade.
- Adjusting brightness and contrast to maintain daytime visibility without reflections.
- Training the team in content management software and visual campaign scheduling.
Charmex and IT Plus worked closely with the pharmacy to guarantee an efficient content flow and optimum visual impact, making sure the team that manages it at the pharmacy was trained so that the AV solution met both technical and communication goals.
